The Quality Control Tech will report to the Quality Manager by performing tasks that may include, but not be limited to: conducting internal and layered process audits; training to systems and methods; writing, implementing, and training to quality alert documentation; utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other systems to communicate results of testing and auditing; performing simple data rendering and analysis to foster process improvements; gauge verification and calibration; participate in Kaizen and other Continual Improvement activities as directed by the Quality Manager; and any other assigned tasks as determined or assigned by the Quality Manager.

Position Overivew: The Quality Control Tech will report to the Quality Manager by performing tasks that may include, but not be limited to: conducting internal and layered process audits; training to systems and methods; writing, implementing, and training to quality alert documentation; utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other systems to communicate results of testing and auditing; performing simple data rendering and analysis to foster process improvements; gauge verification and calibration; participate in Kaizen and other Continual Improvement activities as directed by the Quality Manager; and any other assigned tasks as determined or assigned by the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect outsourced monuments for engraving accuracy, dimensions, finish quality, and structural integrity.
  • Review proofs and verify all artwork, lettering, and dates.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
  • Identify and correct production issues.
  • Train and support production staff on quality standards
  • Handle quality-related customer concerns.
  • Document and develop monument design standards.
  • Audit monument design and maintain performance KPI’s.
  • Work with the design and sales team as needed.
  • Participate and lead problem solving efforts related to monument quality.

Education:

  • High School, GED, or equivalent is preferred

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and task focus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • General understanding of statistical concepts and their application in an industrial environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to foster trust with the disciplines that the Quality department serves through honesty and discretion

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience in monument operations, design, stone fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of granite design, finishing and engraving processes preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience a plus

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is high while in the manufacturing plant. Required PPE is provided by the Company.
