Position Summary

The SAP ABAP Consultant will design, implement, and validate technical SAP solutions to meet business requirements by closely engaging with their Scrum team members and Product Owners. The ABAP consultant will be part of a lean high performing team that delivers world class SAP Application solutions to meet the business processes and requirements by following the Agile / SCRUM approach.

The ABAP consultant will work with guidance from the Scrum team, Architects and Senior Systems Analysts on the team and with the ESS Scrum Ecosystem to deliver high quality solutions. The consultant will be expected to train on relevant SAP technologies, tools and techniques in order to grow their skill base such that they can take on an ever widening array of technical challenges and become increasingly self-sufficient. 

It is expected to be flexible to learn and work on different SAP technologies and modules as per the needs and requirements of the work the Scrum team takes on. SAP ABAP consultant is expected to follow standard approach and Scrum practices (i.e. documentation, sprint daily standup, retrospectives) established in the ESS Scrum Team department.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Assisting Product Owners in designing, prototyping, developing and leading the implementation of customer-facing solutions especially which are based on SAP ECC and SAP CRM.

  • Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements.

  • Handle changes or emergency transports as needed for high priority issues.

  • Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements.

  • Support on multiple projects to implement new functionalities and improve existing functionalities including articulating, analyzing requirements, and translating them into effective solutions.

  • Act as the technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying application issues and providing timely solutions.

  • Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity.

You will bring these skills and experience to make our team a center of excellence:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in ABAP.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time.

  • Strong technical and development skills in – ABAP OO, CRM.

  • Extensive experience in SAP CRM Middleware, integration with SAP and non-SAP systems through Idoc, bdocs, Web-services, Web-Methods, or any other middleware.

  • Demonstratable knowledge on SAP S/4 HANA is a plus.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and scale up in new technologies quickly.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication, both written and oral

  • Collaborative, must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment

  • Analytical, must be able to work independently (when necessary) to solve complex issues as economically as possible

  • Self-motivated

  • Knowledge/experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
