Job Description:

Contract: 1 year

This candidate need to be bilingual: Mandarin and English speaking.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, high performing sales management/business development professional. This individual can bring their strong knowledge of wealth products to this role and oversee the coaching of wealth licensed advisors to increase their capabilities and production.

This role will report to the Regional Vice-President.

What will you do:

  • Support newly licensed and developing wealth advisors to deliver on holistic business results by introducing resources including Practice Management and collaborate on market identification, sales planning and joint field work.

  • Coach and support Advisors to deliver effectively on business results; support the Advisors in creating wealth proposals, business solutions and implementation plans to achieve wealth results.

  • Support the recruitment of wealth advisors consistent with Region and District business plans and requirements; actively oversee the successful execution of an onboarding plan, in collaboration with Practice Management Centre of Excellence and SLFD wealth programs.

  • Monitor and manage performance of wealth advisors and ensure alignment to business targets.

  • Deliver business results consistent with District and Regional sales targets.

  • Conduct client block and segmentation analysis to support advisor in improving wealth business performance and holistic client engagement.

  • Oversee required measures to support the District Manager in ensuring compliant operations at the District including completing account documentation and regulatory required materials.

  • Provide oversight and support the District teams for 180 day mfda supervision requirement.

  • Work closely with advisors in their identified Districts to transition from a newly licensed advisor to a competent holistic practice with emphasis on wealth products and processes, coaching including business planning, effective joint field work, best practices, digital tool adoption and other methods to grow their practice.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Business acumen, strong wealth product knowledge of wealth products; good understanding of the characteristics of the local and broader market.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services.

  • Strong sales management and business development skills.

  • Strong mentoring, coaching, performance management and influencing skills.

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills.

  • Previous experience leading people through adoption within a production grid environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Sun Life Financial Distribution operates.

Educational requirements:

  • University Degree with minimum 5 years of related experience within the financial services industry.

  • Must hold a valid MFDA license in the province in which your Districts are located.

  • Must have completed the Branch Manager’s Course Examination and satisfy the experience required to become registered as a mutual fund branch manager with the appropriate provincial securities commission.

  • Must be in good standing with applicable regulators.

  • A professional financial services designation would be an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
