Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families affected by drug or alcohol use? Do you want to be part of a compassionate, forward-thinking team that helps people build resilience and thrive? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Family Worker to join our dynamic team in Exeter. In this rewarding role, you will support adults, children, and families impacted by substance use, helping them access the right care, information, and support to lead healthier, more empowered lives.

You will work both on-site and in the community, taking a holistic, family-centred approach that promotes recovery, wellbeing, and safeguarding.

You’ll be part of a supportive, values-led organisation working across Devon, with opportunities to collaborate closely with other Family Workers and partner services. We value teamwork, professional development, and making a real difference in people’s lives.

What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with service users and their families in a range of settings

  • Provide practical advice, emotional support, and tailored care plans

  • Complete initial triage, comprehensive assessments, and ongoing case management

  • Collaborate with partner agencies including schools, Children’s Services, and treatment teams

  • Promote health, wellbeing, and safeguarding for children and families

  • Champion recovery and help reduce the impact of substance use on family life

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, motivated, and flexible in their approach

  • Experienced in working with vulnerable individuals and families (professional or lived experience welcomed)

  • Confident in building positive relationships and managing a varied caseload

  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, care planning, and case recording systems

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple agencies

  • Committed to promoting positive change and long-term recovery within communities

Ready to Apply?

If you’re passionate about helping families overcome the challenges of substance use and want to be part of a caring, professional team, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
