Summary

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through delegation to operations staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Director of Operations, the Operations Supervisor will create, plan, and implement all normal and necessary quality control documents.
  • Assist the director in directing, supervising, and scheduling all aspects of operations, including buildings and grounds; technical services; custodial services and parking departments and inventory control.
  • Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational problems and complaints.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
  • Ensure that Operations Department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and staffing.
  • Assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
  • Oversee maintenance of the physical facility and systems.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee and manage Operations Staff in any of the following departments: Changeover, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Carpentry, Electricity, Plumbing and Technical Services. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience     

Associate Degree from a technical college and a minimum of two (2) years in public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact at all levels of staffing, including management.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, the individual should have some computer skills with Word and Excel.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
  • Be licensed and insured to operation a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Pass background check.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively; frequently required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
