Sr Account Manager, Nutrition, US/CAN 
 
Ingredion is hiring a Senior Account Manager, Nutrition, US/CAN, to drive growth of the nutrition portfolio, understand value propositions of the company’s ingredient portfolio, identify target customers for the Company’s products, partner with the sales team to qualify targets and establish plans for attaining business with identified target customers. The position will be responsible for maximizing nutrition sales and related commercial business activity to existing customers and new customers. 

 
Core responsibilities: 

  • Execute against customer contracting goals 
  • Build a healthy and differentiated project pipeline - identifying pockets of growth and new business opportunities aligned with our nutrition portfolio to generate new business at key customers in the Region 
  • Drive the strategic agenda for the nutrition Solutions portfolio to maximize profitability and revenue by cultivating deep and strategic customer relationships 
  • Nurture collaborative partnerships at several levels, with key customers / customer accounts to gain early access to customers’ growth initiatives and strategy to ensure Ingredion maintains its position as a valued supplier to specific strategic customers in the targeted market segments. 
  • Spearhead sales of specialty “value-added” solutions to targeted regional account customers and prospects, including effective introduction of new products, technologies and processes, to obtain new business 
  • Lead technology-based discussions, primarily with customer/prospects’ R&D, technology/innovation and marketing groups, to establish projects/opportunities, in conjunction with the account teams. 
  • Analyze market trends and customer brands to identify and anticipate sweetener solution needs of existing and prospect customers, and to pursue new opportunities alongside sales and technical counterparts. 
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the food and beverage market and the competitive environment to facilitate business development efforts. Pro-actively providing market and competitive intelligence to appropriate internal teams. 
  • Partner with functional teams (including sales, technical, platform and segment marketing,) to build and execute against Texture and Healthful solutions strategic growth initiatives for regional customers and prospects. 
  • Support the sales team with a high-level technical understanding of the Texture and Healthful Solutions portfolio, its value propositions and available resources. 
  • Ensure close alignment with Texture and Healthful solutions platform team with regards to business plans, including campaigns and market development opportunities. 
  • Network at industry events to build knowledge and identify new prospects.

Qualified Candidates will have: 
 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in food science or other relevant scientific, engineering, or business discipline. 
  • Significant direct and practical customer-facing business development, sales, marketing and/or technical experience in food or specialty ingredients. 
  • Available to travel domestically approximately 50%. Close proximity to major airport is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, ability to manage customer opportunities from concept to commercialization. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in creation and execution. 
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required. 
  • Working knowledge of food and related industries’ product development and sales cycles. 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. 
  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.

Pay Range:

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
