Job Description:

The Broadlines/Hardlines retail team covers roughly $2 trillion in market cap spanning several categories including broadlines, home improvement, home furnishing, and auto parts, among others. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the job, including idea generation, industry research, client interaction, database creation/management, modeling, writing, valuation analysis, client interaction, conferences, and much more.  The candidate for the position should be intellectually curious, have a deep desire to learn, and possess strong communication skills. The ideal candidate possesses experience in sell-side research or investment banking. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
  • Develop and analyze databases integral to our research product
  • Seek out new, unusual sources of information
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and effective fashion
  • Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
  • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
  • Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Min 1 year of experience focusing in equity research, wholesale credit, buy side experience or investment banking experience
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
  • Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment

Pay range

$110,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
