Data governance and advanced analytics is a critical business capability in today’s organizations. 

There are constantly emerging gaps between people-process-technology, lack of data ownership, and we aspire to realize immense value from our growing and enriched data from the ongoing process uplift and digital transformation.  

As an integral leader of data management and analytics practices, this role will embody strategic mindset and critical thinking skills to navigate through numerous data challenges and determine key data imperatives to execute.

What You’ll Do 

Data Management and Analytics team develops and deploys bespoke data-driven solutions, improving Telstra's business and customer experience. 

 
This is how you'll bring the purpose of your role to life: 

Short-term: 

  • Accelerate the transition of data management & analytics team to launch key data initiatives and uplift existing analytics demands (esp. in inventory mgmt.) 

  • Accelerate the build of cross-platform data models with strategic stacks to enable data quality assessment, metrics, as well as product solutions insights 

  • Benchmark our analytics practices against industry best practices so we continue to operate in most optimized fashion 

  • Uplift team members capability and best use of Alteryx and Tableau. 

  

Mid to longer term: 

  • Introduce best data governance practices to improve data quality and increase value of data. 

  • Metadata and master data management 

  • Data lineage 

  • Business Glossary 

  • Drive culture change to embrace data-driven decisions 

  • Continue to discover potentials of advanced analytics for the business 

  • Consolidate insights from various operational value chains into effective and personalized dashboards 

  • Set up analytics community to standardize analytics practices across TE-I 

  • Set foundation for AI adoption 

 

 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and experience:  

  • Proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing these tools for data processing, analysis, and visualization. 

  • Seasoned Data Analytics Skills: Extensive experience in data extraction, modeling, transformation, and analysis, with a strong ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insights. 

  • Location Requirement:  Hong Kong (preferred).
