Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Apparel Brand Design: Manages internal design team and initiatives that build and strengthen Walmart's brands and are aligned with the Walmart Apparel Strategic Business Unit (SBU) merchandising goals. Assures that Walmart's brand DNA/guidelines, trends, aesthetic/style, quality, and value all support the company's customer needs and market leadership. Helps to ensure merchant leadership is aligned with the brands and assortment; and manages the profit and loss and annual budget for the portfolio. Brand Customer Experience and Shopping Habits: Delivers world-class Walmart exclusive brand experiences across all channels (e.g., Walmart stores, Walmart.com) by offering private label collections of high-quality, high-value products. Provides a positive customer experience that results in increased sales, customer conversion, and customer satisfaction. Brand Execution: Provides macro trend direction (color, print/pattern, material) for assigned brand. Manages the design vision, execution, and identity of the brand, ensuring that merchant strategy and brand guidelines are followed to ensure a consistent design aesthetic on the floor and online. Assists in the brand's aesthetic, design, silhouettes, and fabrics/materials. Translates the design vision into a product by utilizing appropriate materials and a supply base to execute the collection. Manages the supplier matrix, direct imports, and factory and supplier relationships. Negotiates Direct Import prices. Provides in-country quality assurance support. Creates and executes all packaging in accordance with brand, regulatory, and legal standards. Monitors the quality of work from third-party packaging agencies (printers, adaptation, and development). Manages the creation of product specifications, fit approvals, quality benchmarks, testing protocols, quality analytics, and star ratings and reviews for the apparel line. Merchandising Differentiation and Competitive Advantage: Understands the competitive landscape of the brand portfolio, determining competitive advantages and developing a winning strategy. Develops and adapts to the ever-changing Omni retail environment. Continually offers new experiences to customers in order to increase Walmart's market and customer wallet share, as well as customer retention. Business & Pricing Strategies: Ensures pricing strategies support portfolios' objectives to drive ROI and increase market share while maintaining company reputation of price leadership. Leverages pricing analytics intelligence in pricing strategy decisions. Partnership with Leaders: Partners with merchants to ensure Brand collections and strategy is in alignment with other business unit strategies (e.g., Operations; Replenishment, Marketing). Collaborates with omni Merchandising Operations teams to efficiently and effectively achieve Omni SBU Merchandising objectives. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events. The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00
