Alarm.com is seeking a Product Manager II to lead the design, development, launch, and lifecycle management of next-generation video cameras and platform features such as video analytics, recording, streaming, and device management.

In this role, you will work across hardware engineering, firmware development, software engineering, and backend video processing teams to deliver seamless solutions for millions of users worldwide. You will also collaborate with marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure our products meet customer needs and expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Comprehensive Product Development:

  • Drive the product lifecycle for video hardware, software features, and platform capabilities, from concept through launch.
  • Write detailed product specifications for hardware and software integration, ensuring compatibility across device ecosystems.
  • Coordinate beta programs, test new features, and develop product marketing materials and technical documentation.
  • Partner with hardware, firmware, software, and backend video processing teams to investigate and resolve issues across the entire video ecosystem.

Innovation Across Hardware and Platform Features:

    • Partner with R&D teams to explore and implement advancements in video analytics, AI-powered object detection, edge processing, streaming protocols, and device management systems.
    • Define roadmaps for hardware and platform features that deliver seamless video experiences.
    • Conduct market research and develop strategy for next-generation products and features
    • Analyze usage patterns, performance metrics, and customer feedback to guide product improvements and strategic decision-making.

  • Customer and Partner Engagement:
    • Conduct interviews with customers, dealers, and integrators to refine requirements and prioritize features.
    • Collaborate with high-profile partners on integrations and co-development opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum B.S. or B.A. from a competitive school with strong academic performance
  • Degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, math, physics, or related field
  • 2-6 years of experience in product management, engineering, or similar role
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking abilities including statistical analysisAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for consumer technology and interest in developing a deep understanding of complex products and technologies
  • Previous experience with customer interviews and managing customer feedback (preferred)
  • Previous experience communicating requirements to engineering teams and managing requirements modifications during product development (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • General knowledge of business, economics and/or finance
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus: IoT, Computer Networking (including Wi-Fi), IP Video Recording, Video Analytics, Machine Learning, and Computer Programming
