Corporate Affairs coordinates and oversees internal and external communications, media relations, events and government and industry affairs. Our role is to earn trust by advancing CBA’s reputation through advocacy with internal and external stakeholders and to deliver advice and insights to inform decisions.
Your role
The Lead, Strategy and Performance is responsible for managing operations, resource management, the flow of information, and programs of work between the Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs (EGM CA), Corporate Affairs Leadership Team (CALT) and key stakeholders and managing the function of the office of the EGM CA.
As a key member of the Corporate Affairs leadership team, you work closely with the EGM CA and the CALT team driving strategic initiatives, projects, Corporate Affairs operations and engagement; managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders as required by the EGM Corporate Affairs and providing comprehensive insights and performance metrics to inform decision making. You manage budget processes and resource allocation for the team.
This role reports to the EGM Corporate Affairs.
In this role you will:
Develop and implement business management practices and operating rhythms, supporting the EGM CA and CA Leadership team in effectively leading the business strategically and operationally.
Embed a culture of operational excellence and maximise efficiency by working with the EGM CA EA to design appropriate content, frequency and agenda for meetings, strategy forums, leadership events and off-sites, and employee engagement in partnership with relevant support partners.
Provide guidance and advice to the EGM CA on key priorities, providing guidance / recommendation on necessary actions.
Serve as a single point of contact for Corporate Affairs for initiatives that impact across multiple functions, proactively provide input and coordination as required.
Coordinate and contribute to the CA strategy discussions and input into annual Strategic Planning Process (SPP).
Work with MCA Strategy, Tech and Ops, manage and co-ordinate the Quarterly Business Reviews and Big Room Planning for Corporate Affairs.
Coordinate the development of presentations and papers for MCA LT, Board and ELT along with management of action items from Board and ELT sessions, including timely delivery to the Group Executive and Secretariat.
Establish key performance indicators and reporting to drive and track performance across CA.
Effectively manage the relationship with Finance with a focus on individual General Manager team budgets and resourcing, ensuring Corporate Affairs stays within its cost targets and manages FTE and expenditure.
Drive the Annual Operating Plan setting process for Corporate Affairs with MCA Strategy, Tech and Ops and Finance.
Ensure implementation of the Group’s Risk Management Approach including adherence with policies; and the design, implementation, and testing of controls, including business continuity planning.
Management of team operations, including the development and management of effective operational risk practices.
Key selection criteria for this role includes:
Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications
Demonstrated success as a senior strategic professional supporting a Senior Executive with proven leadership, strategy, performance and project management capabilities.
Strong business acumen, analytical capability as well as an understanding of strategic approaches and implementation.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Expert written communication, presentation and influencing skills.
Ability to apply discretion and strict confidentiality in your dealings with the EGM and Leadership Team.
Effective interpersonal skills – collaboration, influencing, negotiation, conflict resolution.
Track record of organising and prioritising work under pressure.
