09The Team:
Members of the Source Analysis side of the Data Analysis, Load and Quality team are responsible for understanding and documenting processes, in order to guide implementation of enhancements to current source data standardization mappings, as well as on-board new data sources.
Success on the team is heavily reliant on the ability to work collaboratively with the team’s Load (ETL) developers, as well as with the team’s Quality analysts, to ensure the source file requirements they create are correctly translated into accurate coding, and are tested fully, in order to be implemented correctly.
As a part of a truly global team, this provides a unique opportunity to work with members of the same team, in 3 different regions globally (US, India, Mexico).
Responsibilities and Impact: This Senior Research Analyst is an on-going operational role to ensure that source and conformed data meets the needs and quality standards of downstream users and products.
Consistency in the business rules applied to source data, to create quality standardized data for our Mobility products is critical to the correct insight customers gain in utilizing data within these products.
Perform standard data analysis activities on large volumes of data to determine trends and potential data issues.
Coordinate estimation activities to determine how new data files and sources will be processed in existing systems.
Perform root cause analysis on internal and external identified issues.
Responsible for the monitoring of trends in data volumes, (batch/files level) data quality and system performance; and escalates as appropriate for proactive handling.
Writing detailed business requirements documents for all requested changes.
Facilitate communication between internal and external business and technical teams.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, with at least 5 years related job experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of SQL is required.
At least 2 years working in a role with process as a primary focus, either in Data Analysis or Business Analysis.
Ideal candidates will have proven problem-solving skills, familiarity with business improvement methodologies and tools, understanding of process flows and business rules, demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, and proven understanding of metadata concepts.
Experience managing large volumes of data, data warehousing concepts and practices, and previous experience working with relational database systems.
Demonstrated ability using advanced analytical skills to analyze and report on detailed data attribute trends, and processes and procedures, requiring strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.
General knowledge of US Automotive Industry.
Strong conceptual thinking, and strong attention to detail, with the ability to be decisive and take into account consequences of decisions.
Exceptional verbal and listening communication skills with proven experience in developing strong customer relationships, spanning technical and business teams, and ability to effectively communicate technical or abstract concepts.
Motivated self-guided learner who works independently and takes initiative to understand and document current business and system processes and verify analysis with the end user community, as well as having the drive to identify enhancement opportunities with current/new processes to improve timing, cost or quality.
Preferred Skills:
PL/SQL and XML knowledge is a plus.
