The Operational Excellence Manager will drive continuous improvement across all auction operations processes at Goldin Auctions. This role will lead efforts in the creation and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with department leads and ongoing auditing of and reporting on process compliance. A key focus will be on developing and implementing operating procedures that mitigate risk—specifically the risk of loss, damage, and errors—while also building scalable processes that enable the business to grow. The Manager will focus on streamlining workflows, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with established standard processes. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Business Operations.

What you will accomplish:

  • Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies across key areas, working to streamline workflows and enhance throughput across receiving, cataloging, photography, editorial, and shipping processes.

  • Collaborate with functional department leads to design, document, and implement new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency, accuracy, and mitigate risks such as loss, damage, and errors.

  • Develop and implement scalable processes that support business growth while maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing risk.

  • Conduct regular audits of operational data to ensure compliance with SOPs, mitigate risks, and find opportunities for refinement.

  • Collaborate closely with IT to integrate technology solutions that enhance process automation, operational scalability, and risk management, while partnering with various teams (e.g., sales, cataloging, editorial, photography, shipping) to ensure streamlined workflows, clear communication, and alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by using feedback from operational teams and identifying areas to drive iterative improvements in process efficiency and risk mitigation.

  • Provide training (in collaboration with department leads) and support to ensure that team members are fully versed in new SOPs, process changes, and risk management strategies.

  • Oversee the implementation of process changes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope, while preparing the business for future scalability.

  • Partner Technology Integration: Work closely with IT and other departments to integrate technology solutions that enhance process automation, operational scalability, and risk management.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on process improvement, SOP development, and risk mitigation.

  • Strong understanding of auction or e-commerce operations, with experience in managing large-scale inventory and fulfillment.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to operational challenges and risk management.

  • Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and cross-departmental partnership.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
