Join the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector as we focus on the development of new capabilities for our military and intelligence customers around the globe. The Supervisor General Manufacturing 1 position will be located at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility.

The manufacturing organization builds various products in an ISO 9000 environment for military applications. The manufacturing environment requires precision, attention to detail, and quality. The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for the manufacturing team that builds and tests various products for multiple programs. This individual is responsible for a team of employees that build and test different products in support of multiple business needs and programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily administrative duties of time approval and product/employee support.
  • Coordinating with 1st shift teams in establishing priority flow down in the work cell, communicating priorities to the teams as well as cross functional support of other manufacturing areas.
  • Establishing employee goals, developing performance reviews, increasing team engagement, employee development initiatives, clear/concise communication across the work cell, and adherence to the area/company procedures and policies.
  • Working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering organization by supporting the resolution of technical issues within the work cell.
  • Monitor and evaluate yield data and support implementation of root cause/corrective action analysis; equipment maintenance & calibration strategies to ensure equipment capacity is available to support production schedules; evaluation of process flows to ensure optimal process flow minimizing cycle time through the manufacturing work cells.
  • Provide employee feedback to the Manufacturing Engineering team relative to equipment and tooling concerns/needs.
  • Ensure 6S practices within work areas are followed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or working towards that degree, with a current year completion date + 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. MS + 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • MS Office familiarity
  • Electro / Mechanical background
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity and experience with SAP
  • Familiarity or working in a clean room.
  • Familiarity with the 5 Whys for determining root causes and corrective actions.
  • OSHA/PPE Experience
  • Active clearance

MANUMS

Salary Range: $90,700.00 - $136,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
