About the Role
The position objective of Head of Investment Operations and Management is to
• Prudently assess, monitor, and management AMC overall risk profile as well as provide all necessary support on portfolio and performance analysis and reports.
• Constantly refine AIA China AMC’s risk management policy and process with in accordance with changing local regulatory and AIA requirements.
• Manage the efficient and accurate achievement of all reporting requirement for both internal and external purposes.
• Maintain a good close relationship with both external and internal AIA China AMC’s counterparties, including the CIRC and the custodian bank.
• Manage the entire investment operation process and provide all necessary operation supports to all teams in AMC.
• Ensure efficient and accurate process in both control and settlement function.
• Lead the investment operation team in identify improvement areas according to market practice change and in the completion of special IT and operation related projects that will meet the pre-determined requirements and objectives.
• Work closely with all external partners and internal departments to ensure smooth transactions.
• Assist CIO in management of important BAU and key strategic initiatives.
• Participate in SAA/TAA setting and support for ALM, provide necessary quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, organize the implementation and mornitoring.
- Has overall management responsibility of AMC risk management, portfolio & performance analysis, and reporting. Need to ensure the entire investment process and all investment activities predently following all requirements of investment mandate, regulations and compliance.
- Manage changes in AMC risk management framework, KRI, investment policy & procedures effectively according to market development and new external and internal requirements.
- Assis CIO in management and achievement of ALM, NII target, GOE control, solvency management and other key strategic initiatives.
- Manage the efficient and accurate achievement of all reporting requirement for both internal and external purposes.
- Provide necessary investment and marketing support to the business channels and customers.
- Assist CIO in working closely with regulators especially CIRC to facilitate business development of AIA China, expand investment scope of the Insurance Funds, develop industry best practice, and enhance AIA’s overall relationship with the authorities.
- Corordinate and participate in regular investments meetings to discuss investment strategy and develop appropriate action plan.
- Oversee the investment operations, which include cash management, trade processing & settlement, investment account control, asset reconciliation, and custodian arrangement etc.
- Coordinate with relevant departments on the management of day-to-day cash movement between operational accounts and investment accounts.
- Manage trade data processing to ensure that all trades are timely and accurately posted to the investment database.
- Manage settlement process and deal with any failed settlement with relevant parties.
- Perform asset reconciliation between investment database and custodian bank to ensurethe safe keeping of all invested assets.
- Arrange internal and external investment account opening and documentation.
- Maintain close contact with custodian bank for service and information requests.
- Manage the operations team efficiently and effectively to ensure full compliance with approved policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage AMC related projects.
- Provide good mentor and development guidance to junior staffs.
- Coordinate and working closely with both Group office and other AIA China relevant departments on investment related issues for the support of company’s sustainable growth.
