Role: Director RTR - Shared Services

Reporting: VP Finance COE

Overview: A Record to Report Director is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing and managing the entire record to report process for a Segment. Responsible for the timely and accurate performance of the General Ledger process. To execute the operations of the Record to Report on a daily basis so the IBC operational excellence and customer service objectives are realized within the given guidelines and policies

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial reports, e.g. balance sheets and income statements (including revenue recognition, inventory / plant accounting, of manufacturing / project company). Ensure compliance with US GAAP.

  • Understands revenue recognition for milestone-based projects through Percentage of Completion accounting (PoC) - Revenue recognition for fixed price contract / milestone-based contracts.

  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the record to report team, ensuring quality, efficient and effective operation of the function. This involves managing a team of professionals and overseeing their performance, development, and coaching.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve the record to report process, identifying opportunities for automation, streamlining, and standardization. Implement best practices and drive process efficiencies to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Close Management: Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of financial close activities and achieve key KPIs.

  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with internal control policies, procedures, and SOX requirements. Perform periodic reviews and assessments to identify control gaps and implement remediation plans.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Controllership, Business finance and auditors, to address any inquiries or issues related to the record to report process. Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance.

  • System Implementation and Upgrades: Lead or participate in projects related to the implementation or upgrade of ERPs. Own ERP implementation for record to report process and drive user adoption and training.

  • Experience in consolidation tools like HFM or One Stream

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant with 16-20 years of experience in RTR of team leading experience of approx. 100-150 people
  • Experience in manufacturing industry / project company and captive shares services with above skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive change.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth hands-on experience of end-to-end RTR process
  • Ok to work in shared services and flexible with America shift during MEC.
  • Very good communication and Global transition experience, stake holder management
