Introduction
In Fab Logistics Planner is responsible for ensuring stable inventory availability within the customer fab by managing and controlling all material movements between the customer dock and the laydown area in compliance with customer safety and security regulations. Additionally, the IFL Planner leads the planning and execution of FRU move-in activities to enable machine installation to begin.
Job description
The role oversees end‑to‑end material handling operations within the customer fab, focusing on the safe, security and efficient move‑in and move‑out of large and heavy materials. Daily material demands are monitored through internal systems, validated for safety and accuracy, and coordinated with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure that all movements are conducted within approved timelines and pathways.
Material return operations are managed through both standard and emergency processes. Standard return requests submitted through the MHR system are reviewed, validated, prepared for move‑out, and scheduled based on available Milkrun times. When emergency return needs arise from CS or the Material Handler Return system, material readiness is quickly verified and trucking is arranged immediately through the ticketing tool to prevent operational delays.
Rigging activities are planned and executed in collaboration with riggers and customers, securing all necessary equipment, workforce, and safe movement paths in advance. Consolidation opportunities are identified when multiple rigging tasks occur within the same site, enabling more efficient volume handling and reduced operational overhead. The role also leads full‑scope FRU move‑in operations, including worklist creation, unloading scenario planning, equipment allocation, truck scheduling, and path preparation.
Maintaining accurate inventory is a critical part of the responsibility. The Material Flow Tracker is updated continuously to ensure full transparency and correctness, while BCP procedures are executed promptly during network disruptions. Inventory aging is maintained below 14 days on average, and return lead time is kept under 5 days, with ongoing collaboration across teams to minimize non‑SAP items.
Close communication with the customer ensures that laydown areas and material movement paths inside the fab remain safe, available, and properly managed. The role also oversees the collection and return of materials designated as Return for Reuse, ensuring compliance with process requirements.
To support stable and consistent operations, established processes and ways of working are maintained and improved in alignment with stakeholders. The role takes a leading position in managing and utilizing 3PL partners, ensuring that their resources are effectively leveraged to enhance overall material handling performance.
