This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will that help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin’s launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the structural analysis work of a rocket engine program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop Component Finite Element Models (FEM) based on interaction with Design and Engines System analysis teams.
  • Perform classic hand calculations and FEM Simulations of rocket engine hardware including, but not limited to, interconnects, brackets, ducts, manifolds, and so on.
  • Use various structural analysis methods to support test and root cause investigations.
  • Communicate analysis results to the team.
  • Document analysis findings in reports for review and release.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Internship, academic project, or research experience with direct responsibilities doing structural analysis on hardware for aerospace, mechanical or related industries.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials).
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methodology and experience working with FEA software suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024.
  • Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university.
  • Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc).


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $75,510.00-$105,714.00

Other site ranges may differ
