Job Description Summary
This role contributes to the design, development, and industrialization of products, solutions, and systems, including technical improvements to existing products and components. Responsibilities include executing engineering activities within a defined technical discipline, supporting departmental planning and delivery commitments, and leading initiatives that benefit SQDC, Culture, and Strategy across QTC, Global Functional Teams, and broader organizations.
The role operates with a degree of autonomy, guided by established processes, standards, and business priorities, with accountability for meeting defined quality, delivery, cost, and performance objectives, while also creating, improving, and standardizing processes to drive continuous improvement and business outcomes.
Job Description
- Create definitions of Gas Turbines parts (Aero and Heavy Duty), modules, and assemblies in the form of 3D models, PMI, 2D Drawings, BOMs, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
- Drive strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency in meeting critical business metrics and KPIs.
- Drive proper application of GD&T ASME Standards, quality standards, model reviews and peer checking, for Product Definition deliverables.
- Uses judgement to prioritize tasks aligned with business objectives (SQDC) and ensures execution in line with stakeholder agreements.
- Comprehend and proactively influence new processes & business initiatives.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of Product Definition best practices and how an area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles of a Gas Turbine and adjacent technologies. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to propose, influence and support holistic solutions along with stakeholders.
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Independently drive complex projects to completion.
- Support and encourage professional growth by mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues. Share knowledge effectively, develop skills, and guide team members toward consensus on relevant topics. Clearly communicate performance expectations and navigate sensitive issues with professionalism and care.
- Continue to master technical depth in various areas of expertise as Electrification, Decarbonization, Power Plants, Gas Turbines Technologies, and Product Definition state of the art techniques.
- Embrace LEAN by adopting LEAN tools and principles for day-to-day operation & problem solving.
- Support testing and integration of new digital tools and processes.
- Successfully lead global/local initiatives or KPIs to support business operation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Product Definition.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
