  • Salary Level HEW 9 ($135,978 - $145,693) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

About You
You are a collaborative and strategic people leader with demonstrated experience managing high-performing service delivery teams within a complex and fast-paced environment. Passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement, you thrive on delivering high-quality, stakeholder-focused services while leading teams through change with clarity and purpose.

You bring strong experience in graduate research or a related operational function, with the ability to manage complex processes accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements. Your ability to balance strategic oversight with operational detail enables you to drive service improvements, manage competing priorities, and support outstanding outcomes for stakeholders.

An excellent communicator and relationship builder, you are confident engaging with senior stakeholders across a diverse organisation and fostering productive partnerships across academic, professional, and external networks. You are skilled in influencing, problem solving, and providing trusted advice, with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into practical and effective solutions.

Most importantly, you are a values-driven leader who motivates and develops teams, champions service excellence, and contributes positively to an inclusive and collaborative culture.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high-performing, customer stakeholder-focused teams which deliver services to a range of clients individuals, within a graduate research or the University sector setting
  • High-level strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to understand issues at both a broad strategic level and at a detailed operational level.
  • High-level experience in planning, leading and driving change with accountability for delivering on organisational objectives, developing creative solutions and practical implementation strategies, in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple levels and functions and with external parties.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop and present sound and compelling business cases, proposals and analytical reports to a variety of different audiences.
  • Highly motivated, stakeholder-focused and pro-active with highly developed organisational and time management skills and the ability to handle various and multiple functions simultaneously and under pressure.
  • Demonstrated history of behaviour aligned to the RMIT values, leadership capabilities and professional capability framework.
