A Day in the Life

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Training and Education Specialist, focusing on owning, developing and executing HCP learning pathways, to ensure customers are knowledgeable on the safe and effective use of Medtronic Pelvic Health neuromodulation therapies. This role will include content creation, program management and provider training. This position will partner with healthcare providers (HCPs), business leaders, medical education, sales and cross-functional partners to drive the education strategy, implement new education practices with expertise while leading across matrixed stakeholder partners. This individual works under the direction of the Pelvic Health Sr. Education/Training Manager.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and execute engaging, HCP education programs that are targeted, purposeful, and increase neuromodulation knowledge and skills
  • Maintain relevant medical faculty and key opinion leader relationships with special emphasis on identifying and retaining and onboarding clinician faculty of the highest quality, integrity and effectiveness for Medical Education programs
  • Ensure timely updates to the course curricula to reflect changes in product offerings and market demands
  • Frequently provide guidance and coaching to HCP and MDT Faculty
  • Motivate, influence and lead cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives.  Anticipate, identify and resolve high-level problems associated with completing projects and executing programs
  • Drive innovative education methods across digital and virtual platforms using LMS and authoring tools
  • Work in Medtronic systems, including the Med Review, AMP and cvent
  • Collaborate with cross functional groups (Product Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Patient and Technical Services, Legal, Quality, Clinical, and Regulatory) to create education programs, curricula, course materials and measurements that support business unit strategies and are compliant with regulatory, quality systems, and Business Conduct Standards.
  • Stay abreast of education and development industry research, (e.g. learning theory, motivation theory), and new methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrate education effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategy.
  • Develop strong and ongoing relationships with sales, marketing and clinician partners by attending education programs, society and congress events as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of competency in disease management, and Medtronic device therapy application and related systems through continuous learning (i.e. seminars, self-study, workshops, literature review, etc.).
  • Travel requirements: 50%

Qualifications - External 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years experience OR
  • Associate's Degree with 6+ years experience OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience in training healthcare professionals (HCPs)
  • Previous work experience in the medical industry or within a medical institution

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$84,800.00 - $127,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
