In this role, you’re expected to:

Reporting to the Passive Currency Overlay Manager, the Passive Currency Overlay supervisor is responsible for a range of Passive Currency Overlay hedging activity, ensuring compliance with operating procedures, policies, and guidelines, in the timely completion of accurate FX calculation and orders for execution with the FXLM team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting with proven share class hedging knowledge, client management skills, and the ability to ensure all deliverables within the Service Level Agreements are met. They will have a strong “hands on” operational focus and are expected to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in operational delivery. A core expectation of the successful candidate will be to act as succession and coverage for the Passive Currency Overlay manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership, management and development of strong client relationships
  • Development of strong relationships with both FX Product & the FXLM Sales team
  • Proactively manage client SLAs / KPIs (escalating any issues internally / externally as required).
  • Championing a culture of collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure successful delivery of client requirements
  • Identify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary remediation, keeping team and manager informed of issue.
  • Monitor errors, complaints and near misses. Record as appropriate including compiling incident reporting
  • Ensure documentation exists for any client-specific procedures
  • Ensuring 100% adherence to procedures, policies and guidelines
  • Act as technical and knowledge resource to the team/business unit
  • Participate in the development, testing and implementation of systems enhancements and new products
  • Lead projects to optimize operational efficiency and improve quality
  • Assist with planning and management of all relevant project work
  • Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance / behaviour, ensuring accountability and adherence to company policies and procedures

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications:

While all of our candidates would be required to have strong Fund Accounting experience, additional related industry experience, financial education or maths/statistics background or analytical mind-set would be a strong bonus:

  • Degree in Business / Finance / Accounting
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Share Class Hedging or Fund Accounting with at least 2 in a supervisory / managerial capacity

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong (Fund Accounting and Passive Currency Overlay) product knowledge is required. This should include understanding of fund structures, financial instruments, share class hedging methodologies and calculations, regulatory environment and funds industry.
  • Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills

Skills:

  • Client relationship management
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly computer literate - MS Office applications, SQL, MS  Excel at intermediate - advanced level
  • Strong operations background with a proven track record
  • Project management skills with the ability to multi-task

Competencies:

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong client focus with an ability to evaluate needs and develop solutions
  • Numerical, analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Proven ability to lead the introduction of complex change in a challenging environment
