Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide.  As the Associate Director, Managed Markets Analytics you will have responsibility to develop the US managed care strategy across government and private insurance markets for in-line and/or near-term pipeline assets as well as analytics around patient services data.

This is an on-site position based in Foster City, CA

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experienced working knowledge of Managed Markets (e.g. flow of product and dollars across the distribution chain, government pricing regulations, typical contracting terms and approaches) as well as key healthcare related datasets (e.g. IQVIA, SHA, Model N, formulary data)

  • Able to influence senior management by distilling complex analytics and insights in an easily digestible presentation

  • Ability to collaborate and influence key business partners including National Account Managers, Commercial/Government Contracting & Pricing, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Legal

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and execute across multiple urgent deliverables

  • Outstanding analytical skills including building complex excel models that integrate inputs from multiple data sources to enable robust scenario planning

Responsibilities:

  • Develop models and analytics to support all phases of contracting, including proposal development, approval and performance-monitoring

  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to align key assumptions, scenarios and access forecast

  • Scenario modeling to support contracting strategy development

  • Leverage and triangulate various data sets (MMIT, IQVIA, SHA,  867, Chargeback)  to provide insights to support contracting decisions

  • Develop advanced analytical tools to streamline and automate reporting

  • Monitor market landscape and trends related to payer reimbursement, and determine implications to Gilead’s product portfolio

  • Work with Managed Markets leadership team to understand customer and industry trends, as they relate to contracted and potentially contracted customers

  • Conduct analytics to support Specialty pharmacy and distribution strategy

Basic Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ relevant experience, Master’s degree with 8 years relevant experience or PhD and 2 years’ relevant experience 

Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • 10 years working experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative field such as Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Engineering preferred

  • Intermediate level Excel and Tableau skills

  • Experience in HCV, HIV, or Oncology therapeutic areas desired

  • Experience in Managed Markets / Contracting / Payer Analytics preferred

The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
