Summary:

In this role, you will lead subject matter experts in 340B operations and the pharmacy marketplace that works with experts from government agencies, participating 340B hospitals and clinics, national advocacy associations, pharmacy manufacturers, wholesalers, and pharmacy technology and software companies in support of 340B compliance for the 340B Program. You will set a strategic vision and oversee the Apexus 340B University and other education programming and tools to ensure content is consistent with the Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) interpretation of 340B rules and regulations so that stakeholders operate compliant programs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as business lead for compliance-related projects, including eligibility, diversion, and duplicate discounts.

  • Build and foster relationships with key Prime Vendor Program (PVP) participant sites in developing additional PVP compliance opportunities to covered entities through contracting as well as partnering with members of their internal team to bring value to the organizations using national best practices.

  • Maintain a high level of subject matter expertise and customer satisfaction with covered entity C-suite leaders and effectively communicate successes, opportunities, and challenges with 340B program operations and compliance strategies to Apexus’ leadership, participant advisory councils, and other stakeholders.

  • Support the HRSA and Apexus leadership teams with operational expertise on special projects regarding pharmacy policy and practice.

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to Apexus 340B University and other education programming and tools to ensure content is consistent with HRSA's interpretation of 340B rules and regulations.

  • Oversee expert-level escalation support for the Apexus Answers call center.

  • Identify and analyze 340B and pharmacy market trends as they apply to program policy to provide insights and communicate best practice solutions through compliance support and education efforts to all stakeholders.

  • Maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholder groups (providers, industry, consultants, and government agencies) engaged with the 340B program.

  • Represent Apexus as a 340B thought leader in national and regional forums.

Qualifications: 

  • A pharmacy degree is required (Pharm D preferred).  A Master’s degree in business or healthcare is desired.

  • 15 or more years’ experience with 340B pharmacy is required.

  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software is required.

  • Board of Pharmacy registered preferred.

  • Completion of an ASHP-approved pharmacy residency is desired.

  • ACE (Apexus Certified Expert) preferred.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $156,500.00 to $273,700.00.
