Job Overview

The Utilities Specialist supports Main Street Renewal’s ASC Utilities Team. This role oversees daily utility activations and deactivations while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. The position contributes to the company’s goals by ensuring timely utility setup and maintaining strong vendor relationships, which support property operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate utility activations according to MSR utility process
  • Coordinate utility deactivations according to MSR utility process
  • Enroll utility accounts into e-billing
  • Communicate with branch offices throughout the stages of the MSR utility process
  • Accurately input utility information into specified property fields to ensure all relevant information can be reported on
  • Identify utility providers in service areas and cultivate relationships to improve the utility process
  • Make payments/deposits when needed to activate utilities and complete expense reporting for all charges
  • Serve as the point of contact with utility companies, addressing service-related issues and ensuring timely responses to activation or deactivation requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve utility-related issues such as delays or billing discrepancies
  • Identify any “gaps” in the process and work to bridge them to increase efficiency
  • Implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong multitasking ability to manage utility requests for multiple properties simultaneously
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for handling service delays, billing discrepancies, or other utility-related issues
  • Organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to work in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to consistently meet department deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Service-minded approach to all aspects of the job

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in construction, project management, utilities, or real estate industry preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce
