The difference you’ll make:

  • Facilitating the team, providing clear instructions for engineers and overseeing quality updates for the customer and stakeholders

  • Maintaining a continual pipeline of manual tasks to automate and show progress on automation and data to evidence/track improvements in service and cost-avoidance

  • Coordinating the effective and timely management of hardware, operating systems and third-party software installed on server platforms

  • Providing end-to-end Leadership overview on projects, tracking resources, understanding and contributing to solutions for complex situations and problems

  • Ensuring systems infrastructure and communication platforms meets the demands of the function and customer needs

  • Tracking, reporting, performance management and prioritising workload of engineers

What you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency and experience in managing and lifecycle management of Windows Server and VMware operating systems teams

  • Familiarity and experience with wider infrastructure technologies, cloud, networks LB, Firewalls etc

  • Ability to facilitate improvement in monitoring tools, manage RCA reviews, contribute to major incidents and understand impact on service

  • Previous experience in leading operational teams in a constantly changing 24/7 environment with the ability to define and focus on priority tasks. With the ability to deal with changing priorities

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, stakeholder and service management of 3rd party deliveries

  • Understanding of vulnerability and hardening compliance and role it plays in securing the bank

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Understanding of networking concepts, such as IP addressing, subnets, routing, firewalls, and load balancers, particularly within a cloud environment

  • Logical approach to problem-solving & troubleshooting skills

  • Understanding of small agile ways of working

  • Ability to contribute to technical forums and architectural discussions

What else you need to know:

This role is based in Unity Place - Milton Keynes.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

1st Stage – A virtual interview lasting 30 mins and covering a range of questions.

2nd Stage – Ideally a face-to-face interview lasting 60 mins covering a range of competency based and technical questions – potential to be a remote session depending on your situation.
