Chemours is seeking a Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance Senior Expert to join our growing team. This position will be available in Seoul, Korea

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Define and drive regulatory compliance strategy and compliance programs for South Korea, aligned with Chemours business and sustainability objectives including audit, compliance reviews, regulatory risk assessment and develop proactive mitigation strategies

  • Serve as the senior subject matter expert (SME) for Korean chemical regulations (e.g., K-REACH, CCA, KOSHA, Extended Producer Responsibility - EPR scheme)

  • Mentorship, leadership, mentoring, coach and enabler for local junior regulatory and product stewardship expert

  • Provide strategic regulatory guidance to business leaders to support market access and risk-informed decision-making

  • Translate regulatory developments into actionable business insights and strategies

  • Lead complex, cross-functional, and regional/global programs in Product Sustainability and regulatory compliance

  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance compliance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Represent Chemours with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external stakeholders

  • Lead to regulatory advocacy initiatives, influencing policy and industry direction

  • Collaborate within and across functions (R&D, Legal, Commercial, Supply Chain) and geographies to align regulatory and business priorities

  • Build organizational capability through training and knowledge sharing

  • Act as an escalation point for complex regulatory and compliance issues

The following is required for this role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • Significant experience (typically 8–12+ years) in product stewardship and regulatory compliance

  • Deep expertise in Korean chemical regulations (K-REACH, CCA, KOSHA, EPR, etc.)

  • Proven track record in leading complex regulatory programs and cross-functional/ cross-geographical initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory strategy development and advocacy

  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and support business decision-making

  • Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills

  • Fluency in Korean and English

The following is preferred for this role: 

  • Experience leading regional or global regulatory programs

  • Strong network with regulatory authorities and industry associations

  • Experience integrating sustainability considerations into business strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and organizational change

  • Leadership experience (formal or informal)
