Your Job:
The primary purpose of the Speech Pathology Coordinator position is to renders professional and technical speech and language therapy to assigned patients. You will provide direct and indirect patient care using the Practice of Speech-Language Pathology Act/Rules process (evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, ongoing re-assessment and discharge planning).  You will direct and supervise support personnel and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with professional standards of care.

Your Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate program in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Valid Texas License or Temporary License required
• 2 years Licensed SLP; 4 years preferred
• High level of energy and motivation
• Must be able to operate with minimal supervision following probation period.

Your Job Responsibilities: 

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assumes responsibility for the speech and language therapy components of the patient/family/significant other educational process.     
• Communicates with the healthcare team and co-workers with self assessment of communication effectiveness and manner.       
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers and facility.      
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written documentation and communication of patient information.      
• Utilizes the speech and language therapy process to ensure quality patient care is provided throughout the episode of care.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
