As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and integrating scalable platform solutions across on-prem and multi-cloud environments. You’ll be part of a crew that powers real-time payments for millions of Australians, with a strong focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence.

Your Impact and Contribution

Reporting to the Chapter Lead, Payments Quality Engineering and Testing, you’ll own the end-to-end maintenance, quality testing and deployment lifecycle of payments platforms, ensuring seamless integration and delivery across environments. As such, your responsibilities may include, though not limited to;

• Designing, developing, and managing platform solutions that span on-prem and multi-cloud (AWS) environments.
• Leading CI/CD pipeline development and optimization.
• Implementing and managing a comprehensive test automation framework to ensure rigorous quality assurance across payment platforms.
• Building and maintaining ephemeral environments for testing and development, enabling rapid iterative development and testing cycles.
• Automating operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Integrating observability tools to enhance system visibility and reliability.
• Managing the full DevOps lifecycle, from build to release, with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborating with cross-functional squads to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Your Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles within cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS, CI/CD tooling, and scripting for automation.
• A deep understanding of observability practices and tools.
• Solid experience in end-to-end testing, including test automation and quality assurance practices, with a focus on implementing robust testing frameworks.
• Experience in building and managing ephemeral test environments to facilitate agile development processes.
• Experience managing secure deployments and infrastructure-as-code.
• A passion for solving complex problems and driving engineering excellence.
