Position Summary:

Kemper is seeking a Temporary Recruiter to join our team.  The role of the Temporary Recruiter is an integral part of Kemper's recruiting team and will serve as a critical enabler of our on-going ability to successfully support our business.  Our recruiting team represents our firm’s culture; we are hands-on and entrepreneurial.   We pride ourselves in our ability to identify strong talent and the satisfaction of working alongside some of the brightest experts in our industry.  As such, this individual will be a member of a highly capable, highly engaged recruiting team. 

The team works directly with business managers, leaders, and the broader Human Resources group to support the hiring managers with their talent acquisition needs. Ultimately, you will be responsible for building a strong talent pipeline for our company’s current and future staffing needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business Leaders and Hiring Managers to understand the short and long-term hiring needs and help develop strategies with TA Leadership.
  • Conduct searches using traditional and creative sourcing methods, including candidate outreach, online searches, job postings, internal database searches, industry organizations and associations, and referrals.
  • Advise hiring partners on key decisions throughout the hiring process, including resume review, interview process and overall process improvement.
  • Conduct initial phone screens to assess talent and experience.
  • Communicate benefits of working for Kemper and details about open positions.
  • Preparation of offer letters and background checks.
  • Proactively engage in discussions to identify opportunities for improvement across all areas of talent acquisition.

Position Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Experience with high volume or insurance industry recruiting a plus.
  • Experience with an ATS system. Experience with Workday a plus.
  • Ability to understand changing market dynamics and subsequently be creative in finding candidates to fit those parameters.  
  • A superior sense of urgency with the demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Ability to succeed in fast past environment and adapt to change quickly.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously.
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong people skills with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.

  • This is a remote role that can be worked from a US-based home
  • The hourly pay rate for this role is $30-38.00 per hour. When determining candidate offers we consider experience, skills, education, certifications and geographic location among other factors.
