Position Summary:

The Sr. Supply Chain Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across BJ’s Supply Chain and Merchandising functions. This role leads our Vendor Success program and high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across transportation, distribution, planning & allocation, and club operations. The individual will act as a strategic leader and project manager, ensuring alignment across teams to deliver measurable results in cost reduction, efficiency, and vendor/member satisfaction.

This position sits within the Planning & Allocation department, reporting into the Supply Chain division, and will serve as a key liaison across merchants, supply chain leaders, and external partners.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Vendor Compliance & Technology Oversight

• Lead the development and enforcement of universal standards for vendor-related penalties and chargebacks (both OTIF and non-OTIF).
• Address the vendor community and merchants on compliance expectations and standards at a strategic level.
• Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures for EDI/automation software setup and vendor communications; collaborate with IT to ensure ongoing support and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for critical vendor performance communications.
• Establish clear processes for communicating compliance and chargeback rationale to vendors.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on the progress and status of vendor management initiatives.

Cross-Functional Supply Chain Project Leadership

• Lead and manage strategic, cross-functional supply chain projects that impact transportation, distribution, planning & allocation, and club operations.
• Drive execution of supply chain optimization projects from concept to implementation, ensuring delivery of cost savings, operational improvements, and member value.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders to design and implement new frameworks, systems, and processes.

Strategic Distribution Center & Transportation Cost Reduction Initiative

• Lead the initiative to reduce transportation expenses associated with the opening of BJ’s new distribution center in Ohio.
• Manage a consulting engagement to reinvent BJ’s DC-lane level costing approach, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Present progress and results of the initiative to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain, vendor management, or logistics, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects with measurable results in cost reduction, process improvement, or operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across multiple departments and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to manage relationships across internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Knowledge of transportation management, distribution operations, and supply chain costing models.
• Familiarity with EDI, automation software, and other supply chain management technologies.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $125,500.00.
