Data Centres - Senior Project Manager

What this job involves:

  • Manage Data Centre design evolution, procurement strategy definition and process promoter for all vendors related and construction coordination and follow up until commissioning is granted.
  • Direct interlocutor with customer: head for project management to raise risks and possible mitigations or solutions.
  • Define, coordinate and manage planning, economics, quality and health & safety as well as with related Equipment.
  • OFCI coordination.
  • PMP elaboration, and definition of project strategies, procedures and communications.
  • Development of the process and purchasing strategy as well as management of the project and/or construction packages tender.
  • Suppliers selection and customer presentation.
  • Preparation of technical dossier for tender, reception of offers, realization of comparative and issuance of award recommendation.
  • Organization of regular work monitoring meetings
  • Management and moderation of meetings weekly and monthly meetings with stakeholders.
  • Preparation of Minutes of Meetings and periodic reports
  • Cost control, planning, change orders and billing follow up
  • Management and control of the commissioning of the works.

 Desired skills and experience for this job

  • Degree in engineering (or architecture) and/or construction management with Incorporated (IEng) and/or Chartered (CEng) status with a relevant professional body desirable, but not essential.   
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management of Critical Infrastructures like Hospitals or Data Centres (5MW it minimum) or Oil & Gas plants for at least 5 years.
  • A minimum of 5-years’ experience in the construction sector (projects and construction works) in controlled environment project delivery including data centres, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences and/or high-tech manufacturing etc.
  • Essential knowledge of laws and regulations related to building construction.
  • Analysis capacity for risks detection as well as the ability to search and propose for solutions.
  • Leadership capacity to achieve objectives and milestone compliance
  • Collaborative and team worker 
  • Good in communication and management skills of multidisciplinary work teams
  • Experience in dealing with customers for reporting and decision making 
  • Essential good level of spoken and written English & Italian
  • Good level of use of Excel, Power Point, Autocad, Project/Primavera, TCQ/Presto, BIM 360 is required.
  • Experience in companies with hierarchical structures and internal procedures
  • Organized in the analysis, structured in the reporting and transmission of information. With criteria in the conclusions and prioritization of needs.
