The Role: Lead Software Development Engineer

The Impact: This role is essential for the Market Intelligence Group of S&P as it ensures the development of new software solutions and continuous improvement and stability of our existing applications. Role will enable our clients with a seamless user experience and access to up-to-date data, ultimately bolstering their confidence in our services and reinforcing our competitive position in the market.

Responsibilities:
• Developing, construct, test, and maintain web applications that support a multi-million dollar business.
• Participate in team efforts to implement software projects, providing support in frontend and backend layers
• Engage with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and help in translating them into technical specifications for effective software solutions.
• Adhere to best practices in data management and governance, maintaining awareness of data privacy and security policies.
• Contribute to the identification, design, and implementation of process improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
• 7-9 years of software development: Expertise in debugging, refactoring, and enhancing existing code, with a strong understanding of performance and scalability.
• Expertise in building web applications with .NET, C#, Entity Framework and Angular or ASP.NET.
• Knowledge of T-SQL and MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and performance analysis. Experience with SSIS/SSAS/SSRS a plus.
• Experience with Python and common AWS tools (Airflow, Lambda, SES, SQS, Fargate, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Experience managing software teams and projects.
• Familiar with collaborative tools such as Jira and Miro.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose user support tickets and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including product owners and quality assurance engineers, to ensure seamless integration of new features and enhancements.
• Knowledge of best practices for software development.
• Commitment to code quality: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code. Follow best practices, and understand architectural decisions for scalable application design.
• Teamwork and Agile methodology: Demonstrated ability in Agile development environments, good communication skills, and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
• Support and Collaboration: Ability to support and learn from senior team members, contributing to data engineering projects and initiatives.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with automated unit-testing tools.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
• Experience with ElasticSearch, F# or federated identity services is a plus.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $A to $Z. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
