About Micron Technology Virginia

MTV is located just 30 miles west of Washington, D.C. in Manassas, VA. This site joined the Micron family in 2002 and employs over 1400 Micron team members; it is known as one of the most diverse populations in the Micron network. MTV is a 24/7 manufacturing facility housing a Class 100 cleanroom as its manufacturing floor. Every day and night, 365 days a year, organizations of people, and systems of automation and robotics are working hard to fabricate one of Micron’s most assorted portfolios of products.

As a Technician Intern, you will learn how to monitor, sustain, and improve the equipment or processes in your assigned area. You will work cross-functionally with team members specializing in operations, equipment, and other areas and collaborate with support groups to drive continuous improvement.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Learn and demonstrate the vital troubleshooting skills for area equipment
  • Leverage existing education, training, and experience to complete assigned tasks
  • Understand and follow your assigned area’s documented procedures, processes, and methods having to do with the maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Learn and apply any specialized tools provided for use on the equipment for which your assigned area holds responsibility
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the area production processes and how a change in equipment conditions can affect those processes
  • Learn and apply specialized computer hardware or software to accomplish relevant tasks
  • Optimally work in both team and individual roles
  • Demonstrate basic meeting skills and accurate meeting etiquette
  • Enforce all established safety policies and procedures
  • Flexibility with job responsibilities and shift assignments

Minimum Education/Experience for all Equipment Intern Positions

  • Be open and flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding and accurate application of statistical process control principles
  • Understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving, at least to an algebraic level
  • Fundamental understanding of physics and chemistry concepts and principles.
  • Must be a current student, must not graduate before September 2024.

Preferred Qualifications for Equipment Intern:

  • Enrolled in an AAS, or certificate program, in an Engineering Technology discipline
  • Basic understanding and accurate application of statistical process control principles
  • Basic Technical hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with industrial-scale electromechanical systems and subsystems
