KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Advocates for Lead Technicians company-wide
- Demonstrates and maintains an expert level of knowledge in all phases of field operations (Residential, Commercial, Enterprise, MDU, NOTF, Safety, etc.)
- Standard bearer for Lead Technician qualifications and skill set
- Liaison between Lead Technicians and central functions at headquarters
- Maintains a high level of rapport with all Lead Technicians across the company
- Coordinates with key stakeholders in all departments to support the continuous improvement of Field Operations business practices
- Works with Learning & Development to develop and publish standard operating procedures and best practices documentation
- Observes and verify that training materials remain current and relevant
- Participates in the creation and delivery of new training content
- Participates in the new technology launch as a representative of the field technician
- Leads the Wi-Fi Excellence team and advocates for field technicians on all Wi-Fi related issues.
- Monitors operational KPI reporting, including performance and scheduling metrics.
- Assists in weekly KPI analysis and reporting
- Provides coaching to local leaders on KPI performance as needed
- Monitors weekly time sheet reporting
- Serves as the primary field technician activity management SME
- Ensures that technician quality standards are held to the highest level by monitoring and reporting on QC goals
- Assists with contract labor partner performance management.
- Observes and reports on contract labor partner activities
- Assists lead technicians with managing their local contract labor force including the oversight of QC goals.
- Assists in billing verification and contractor scheduling as needed
- Assist in maintaining and updating the uniform program
- Coordinates with uniform vendor to maintain a smooth operating relationship while controlling cost
- Coordinates with local offices to ensure that all uniform-related needs are met
- Maintains a balance of field vs office time as directed.
- Conducts weekly ride-outs with field personnel
- Conducts safety observations on field personnel
- Visits each system office twice each year (overnight travel required)
- Deploys anywhere in the company during emergency operations and serves as a boots-on-the-ground advisor and additional supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BT4 Lead or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and leadership skills
- Possess strong writing and presentation skills
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with fiber; splicing and troubleshooting
- Ability to work as team leader or independently as required by current priorities
- General PC knowledge; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook required
- Detail oriented: Exceptional organization and record keeping skills
- Associate degree preferred
