Job Location: Cincinnati, OH 

Purpose

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the family office. This position requires a high level of technical accounting expertise, discretion, and sound judgment, as the role involves access to highly confidential financial and personal information.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment that spans personal accounting, cash management, financial analysis, tax planning and special projects as needed.

Contributions you will make to our team:

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities across partnerships, trusts, private foundations, and individuals, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Prepare wire and ACH transfers in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare capital calls and distributions, monitor cash balances within the various entities.
  • Collaborate with outsourced ERP team members to ensure data accuracy, maintain efficient system workflows, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Prepare various accounts, entity, and portfolio reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive financial reports and analyses providing insights into the family’s financial position.
  • Assist the Controller in creating and presenting financial statements and projections to family members as needed.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of entity-level budgets.
  • Support cash flow projections and scenario analysis as requested.

Tax

  • Prepare schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation for tax reporting on entities, trusts, and individuals.
  • Coordinate with internal and external tax professionals by responding to data requests and assisting with tax-related reconciliations.
  • Track tax payments, estimates, and related filings to support compliance.

Learning & Development

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, including staying current on accounting standards, tax regulations, and best practices relevant to family offices and private wealth management.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve skills, processes, and knowledge that support the evolving needs of the family office.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, including family members and leadership by providing accurate, timely, and thoughtful financial support.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders that may include tax professionals, auditors, vendors and banking partners.
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally.
  • Support a collaborative, service-oriented culture grounded in trust, responsiveness, and long-term relationship stewardship.

Confidentiality & Professional Judgment

  • Handle highly sensitive financial and personal information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Exercise sound judgment in all communications and documentation.
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality.

         All other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • A minimum of 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proven experience in accounting, finance, and tax compliance
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Demonstrates ability to assume ownership, work independently and achieve results
  • Familiarity with trust accounting and administration, or prior family office experience
  • Highest standard of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
