Production Issue Troubleshooting
- Provide first or second-level technical support for all merchant acquiring systems (e.g., EDC terminals, payment gateway, host, auto billing system, etc.) related production issues. Collaborate closely with internal IT and/or vendors to implement effective solutions.
- Identify the root cause of each system issue and work collaboratively with IT and/or vendors to develop and implement permanent resolutions.
- Conduct thorough UAT testing in the UAT environment to ensure that fixes are functioning correctly and do not negatively impact other BAU processes, with particular attention to payment gateway integrations.
EMV Certification and UAT Management / Coordination
- Manage and/or perform UATs for both Production Issues and Projects, maintaining open communication with IT and vendors.
- Coordinate EMV certification activities in collaboration with vendors, IT, and Card Schemes, ensuring alignment with e-commerce requirements where applicable.
Project Management
- Oversee and actively participate in all projects within the Merchant Acquiring department, including those related to payment gateway enhancements or e-commerce integrations.
- Ensure that projects meet business requirements and expectations, are delivered within the specified timeline and budget, and align with e-commerce objectives where applicable.
- Serve as the primary liaison among all key stakeholders, fostering clear communication and collaboration.
Terminal Technical Support
- Lead and participate in terminal UATs, including testing payment gateway connectivity and e-commerce transaction flows.
- Provide technical expertise and support for resolving terminal issues, including developing recovery and/or correction plans.
- Offer specialized technical support for terminal key injection matters, ensuring secure payment gateway interactions.
- Actively participate in post-deployment system Health-Checks to ensure seamless integration and performance, especially for e-commerce transactions.
General Technical Support
- Ensure optimal performance of the overall merchant acquiring system, host, NAC, terminals, and payment gateway components. Special focus on maintaining the reliability and efficiency of payment gateway transactions, particularly in high-volume e-commerce environments.
- Ensure full compliance of all technical requirements and systems with regulatory standards (e.g., Card Schemes and BNM).
- Continuously monitor and optimize payment gateway performance, security, and scalability to support e-commerce growth.
- Stay updated on emerging payment technologies and e-commerce trends to proactively address potential challenges and opportunities.
Jobholder Requirements
- Degree holder in IT equivalent discipline
- Preferably 2 years and above working experience in merchant acquiring or payment industry
