Able to handle Retail Department head, guest and team member requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction.  Assists retail Department Head with managerial and operational duties of the Retail Department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist Retail Department Head with training, supervision, recognition, and coaching/counseling of staff
  • Demonstrate proficient merchandising skills in all merchandise categories, able to train and coach all team members in order to achieve consistency throughout the store
  • Outstanding organizational techniques, detail oriented 
  • Exceptional communication skills, effective problem solving ability
  • Maintain and update a log of special requests of newspapers and magazines, deliveries and pick-ups
  • Assist Retail Department Head with weekly scheduling when necessary
  • Run inventory reports and conducts manual inventories of merchandise categories assigned by Department Head. Responsible for ordering and maintaining par level on a weekly basis
  • Accomplished sales associate who shares knowledge and techniques when training and coaching all team members
  • Uphold packaging and shipping merchandise standards, trains and coaches all team members
  • Exhibit complete understanding and thorough knowledge of retail software system. Responsible for training and certifying all new team members
  • Properly complete all requisition forms
  • During pre-inventory preparation (at the start of the last month of every quarter), responsible with the help of all team members for guaranteeing all merchandise is correctly ticketed with legible barcodes. This task will always be due at twelve in the afternoon the day before actual physical inventory
  • Report to Department Head all merchandise theft, shortages, damages, and mark out stock transactions
  • Proactively manage and train all team members in salvaging damaged/defective merchandise to ensure better  departmental profit results
  • Keep and update information binder of brands (biographies, editorials, write ups, etc…) carried in the store. Effective product knowledge, able to train and coach all team members
  • Conducts Pre-shifts on a daily basis with scheduled team members
  • Knows all Loews Star Service standards and is able to demonstrate and train Star Service standards
  • Notifies Department Head promptly and fully of all problems or unusual matters of significance
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and team members
  • Attend all scheduled hotel meetings and training sessions and conducts training
  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, merchandise, and store
  • Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • Complies with hotel policies and rules
  • Recycles whenever possible
  • Remains current with hotel information and changes
  • Complies with hotel information and grooming standards
  • Communicates information with confidence.  No vague or inaccurate information given
  • Empowered to correct team members, then communicate to management later
  • Recognizes when assistance is required by Retail Department Head or team members.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
