Internal Communications Manager
Internal Communications Manager (I)
Blip is a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment.
We operate at scale. As part of Flutter Entertainment, we play an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.
We are serious about Tech. We are problem-solvers with big ambitions, keeping a people-first mindset at the core of our work. We prioritize flexibility as we strive to deliver the best technological products and tackle the greatest industry challenges.
Recognizing that everyone brings their own strengths, backgrounds and new perspectives, we empower you to be yourself. That uniqueness shapes the culture of belonging we are so proud of.
The Role:
As an Internal Communications Manager at Blip, you will ensure effective communication strategies that resonate with our local teams while maintaining alignment with global initiatives and corporate messaging. You will bridge local operations and corporate headquarters, fostering a culture of transparency, engagement, and collaboration. With a new EVP and a first DEI strategy established, this role is instrumental in shaping the refreshed internal narrative, driving employee engagement, and reinforcing our organizational values, unique culture, and sense of belonging.
As a growing location contributing to an increasing number of Divisions and brands of the wider Flutter Group, the candidate needs to be able to re-design and scale our Blip's internal communication system (namely frameworks, processes, channels, and governance) and successfully navigate the more complex environment that comes from being a part of a multinational and public listed company.
Therefore, we're looking for someone who's not only a strategic thinker but also a great storyteller who's nailed it in internal comms, especially in tech. You've got to be able to switch gears fast between planning and getting stuff done on the ground while being comfortable working closely with various stakeholders, from local and global Leadership to communities.
What you'll be doing:
- Play a key role in further developing and scaling Blip's internal communications strategy and systems, challenging the existing norm and implementing new processes and tools to enhance our internal communications infrastructure that fosters dialogue and engagement in a high-growth environment.
- Create and execute an internal communications plan that brings our Location Strategy, and People Strategy to life while ensuring consistency with global messaging and branding. This includes building a compelling initiative roadmap that supports and amplifies our key location initiatives and employee experience priorities, unifying our employees with Blip's values and story.
- Embed our recently developed Employee Value Proposition in all our communication pieces, collaterals, and documentation, under our agreed ToV, messaging and visual identity.
- Manage the internal communication calendar, strategically planning and leading the inherent activities and events, including Blip All-Hands. You will optimize the reach and impact of such initiatives with your capacity for managing content and different formats through various communication channels, including but not limited to Slack, emails, newsletters, video posts, etc.
- Review the existing Intranet structure and play a pivotal role in enhancing its capabilities and make it a primordial source of truth for our employees and thus eliminate any scattered information on legacy/inadequate channels.
- Establish the right governance of our internal communication systems and tool set in its two-way dimension. This means be able to create the guidelines and operating model not only for the internal comms team but engaging and enabling the entire Blip population towards the right understanding and usage of our internal communication channels, best practices, and ways of working.
- Particular capacity to engage with the numerous active Blip communities and promote best practices and rules of engagement to create streamlined ways of working.
- Build excellent relationships with stakeholders across business functions and geographic locations. You will participate in the existing forums within the Group and the Regions and promote any further synchs with your divisional and central peers. In that process you will position yourself as a true owner of Blip’s Internal Communications aligned with our Location strategy.
- Collaborate with the wider Flutter internal communications community to develop and deliver communications plans and messages supporting Group/Regional programmes and initiatives, e.g., Regional townhalls, DEI, Flutter's Positive Impact Plan, etc.
- Own the internal events roadmap, managing the budget allocated to internal comms initiatives, including supplier management when applicable.
- You will lead a small internal communications team with room for growth. You will provide guidance, mentorship, development, and support to ensure engagement and performance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, providing guidance on strategic communication best practices, change management strategies, and crisis communication protocols.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal communication efforts through metrics and feedback mechanisms, continuously iterating and improving strategies based on insights gathered.
