Leidos’ Defense Systems, Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking a Junior Environmental Test Engineer.  We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as RADAR and other surveillance and sensor technologies.  Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer.  We strive to have a variety of skillsets personally and across the team to meet the needs of our customers.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Creating, modifying, and executing environmental testing on system and component level hardware.
  • Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
  • Performing test data analysis and generating test reports from that analysis.
  • Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools.
  • Working directly with the customer and other support personnel on of the afore mentioned responsibilities.
  • The position may require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The position may require minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year).

Basic Qualifications

  • The position requires an ABET accredited B.S. or equivalent degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering with 2-4 years of experience, or Master's degree with less than 2 years of experience.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
  • Candidates must have experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
  • Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience with test planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
  • Working knowledge and operation of environmental test equipment (e.g. thermal chamber, shock and vibe table, etc.)
  • Experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-810, or equivalent commercial or industrial testing.
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management
  • Planning and executing demonstration tests and US Gov't test ranges/facilities

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
