In this role, you will connect multidisciplinary teams across hospitals, aligning strategy and scientific dialogue to create a tangible impact for patients and healthcare partners.

About the role

As a Key Account Partner, you will be the bridge between our organization and key hospitals. You will build trusted partnerships and co-create initiatives that remove barriers to referral and testing, ensuring appropriate patients receive the care they need.

How would you like to mobilize decision-makers to elevate the quality of care? Your work will turn insights into actions that improve health outcomes and support sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to combine your commercial expertise with a patient-first approach.

Accountabilities:

  • Local Strategy and Business Planning: Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop local plans that support our goals and strengthen our position in the CVRM space.

  • Ecosystem Partnerships:  Establish long-term collaborations across the healthcare ecosystem to co-create solutions that improve the patient experience.

  • MDT and DMU Engagement: Build partner strategies with the multidisciplinary team and decision-making unit to enhance quality of care and promote earlier diagnosis.

  • Clinical Dialogue and Education: Engage HCPs on approved indications, efficacy and safety profiles, and treatment protocols to support on-label prescribing.

  • Knowledge Building: Expand understanding of CVRM’s value proposition and labeled indications among MDT and DMU stakeholders.

  • Omnichannel Communication: Apply tailored, strategic omnichannel approaches to educate and activate stakeholders.

  • Sales and Budget Ownership: Drive sales performance, manage assigned budgets, and ensure forecasts meet or exceed expectations.

  • Fair-Balance Promotion: Promote CVRM brands using fair-balance messages and the appropriate mix of promotional tools.

  • AZ Partner of Choice Positioning: Ensure AstraZeneca is recognized as the preferred partner for optimizing patient journeys and quality of care.

  • Training and Compliance: Successfully complete all training requirements, including product examinations, and comply with external regulations and internal policies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with field and office colleagues to align insights and leverage organization-wide expertise for each account.

  • Competitive and Therapeutic Expertise: Bridge diagnosis to therapy choice through extensive knowledge of therapeutic alternatives, classes, and products for AstraZeneca and competitors.

  • Problem Solving and Innovation: Analyze issues, identify priorities, and generate innovative solutions that move accounts forward.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree: required for baseline scientific and business literacy.

  • Proficiency in English to conduct conduct complex scientific and commercial discussions, draft proposals, and present to senior stakeholders.

  • Learning agility: rapidly assimilates evolving amyloidosis science, diagnostics, pathways, and access dynamics; quickly applies new insights in account plans.

  • Business acumen: understands HCO economics, budgets, formulary dynamics, and access levers; builds value cases linked to account priorities and AZ objectives.

  • Commercial innovation & account planning: designs tailored account plans for MDT/DMU; pilots novel engagement models (e.g., diagnostic pathways, earlier diagnosis initiatives) with measurable outcomes.

  • Customer solution oriented: co-creates solutions with stakeholders that optimize the patient journey (diagnosis, referral, testing, treatment); focuses on patient-centric impact.

  • Decision making and problem solving: analyzes barriers (clinical, operational, access), prioritizes options, and executes pragmatic, compliant solutions.

  • Self-confidence: leads complex discussions with senior clinicians and administrators; navigates objections with fair-balance, evidence-led messaging.

  • Omnichannel proficiency: plans and executes personalized, compliant engagement across in-person, virtual, email, webinars, and scientific materials; measures and optimizes reach and impact.

  • Secondary care sales and account management: demonstrable success in hospital/secondary care environments; understands pathways, protocols, and formulary processes.

  • Stakeholder engagement in complex clinical settings: sustained relationships with mid/senior HCPs, KOLs, pharmacy, commissioning, and hospital administration; credible scientific dialogue.

  • Key account management across MDT/DMU: experience engaging MDT (cardiology, haematology, neurology, internal medicine), Pharmacy, CFT, Clinical Director, hospital admin; navigates governance and decision cycles.

  • Scientific and HEOR communication: translates clinical evidence, safety/efficacy, and health economic outcomes into clear value propositions; uses fair balance consistently.

  • Influence in multi-stakeholder ecosystems: orchestrates decisions in accounts with multiple influencers; proves value creation (e.g., pathway improvements, diagnostic adoption, access wins) in complex DMUs.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: works effectively with Market Access, Marketing, Medical/MSLs, Diagnostics, Legal/Compliance; aligns internal resources to account needs and delivers joint outcomes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Rare Diseases: Previous experience with products for rare diseases is highly desirable.

  • Amyloidosis Sales Specialization: Specific preference for experience with Amyloidosis brands or pathways (familiarity with red-flag symptoms, diagnostic algorithms such as PYP scintigraphy, cardiac MRI, genetic testing, and referral networks).
