Cloud Systems Programmer III  - experience in Cloud technology as well as a solid understanding of networking and system interdependencies. Additional responsibilities include support for application architecture and deployment in cloud environments. Also works closely with Solution Engineers and teams on engineering choices and how they align to enterprise engineering/architecture standards. Designs, develops, and maintains the enterprise methodologies and techniques, including standards and guidelines for enterprise-wide use in technical management and systems of process development. Provides technical oversight and engineering solutions to large, strategic, complex cloud environments. Uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.

 

Work schedule:

Work schedule includes weekend day, Saturday and or Sunday. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Deliver infrastructure solutions and standard practices in support of the organization and customers.
  • Deploy Terraform and ancillary technologies, such as Sentinel and Bitbucket to drive standards.
  • Formulate and define system scope through research and fact-finding combined with your experience.
  • Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements
  • Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs
  • Evaluate various FIS lines of business requirements, compare that with available cloud technologies, and through collaboration, produce a technical solution that is cloud ready.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results.
  • Documents technical strategies, objectives, and drivers.
  • Re-engineering processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assesses, applies, and projects the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders.
  • Continuously learn and experiment.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

 

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills, collaborating with people: ability to listen and exhibit empathy to drive customer satisfaction.

  • 1-2+ years of Hashicorp Terraform development (or equivalent) with the following key understanding in these key areas:

- Terraform modules -- how to consume and contribute to them

- Terraform remote states

- Terraform state management

- Fully developed Terraform Enterprise code utilizing a combination of disciplines/concepts like modules and state.

  • Proficiency in Git and Open Source
  • 1-2+ years supporting Azure Cloud and AWS Cloud
  • 2+ years of Application Support
  • 2+ years of Network Support and troubleshooting IP networks, subnets, routing
  • 2+ years of coding solutions and scripting processes for automation.
  • Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP technologies, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience deploying and troubleshooting key cloud network technologies: e.g., load balancers, application load balancers, firewalls. 
  • 2+ years of integration with cloud deployed solutions, back to on premise data centers, cross cloud integrations, etc.
  • 1+ years deploying Containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Administration of Microsoft Windows and Linux Red Hat OS
  • A passion for learning.
  • Excellent customer service skills that build elevated levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
  • Excellent collaborative skills and attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Process oriented candidate who enjoys automating
  • Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
