Position Overview:

Our Development Factory Group is a fast-paced team that interacts with all areas of Freddie Mac’s business, providing solid experience and knowledge across the IT spectrum. We are searching to add a dedicated IT Development Technical Lead to the team! This role will own full end-to-end delivery of software products and will be responsible for guiding team members of varying professional levels.

Your Impact:

As a Technical Lead you will lead on projects, providing technical guidance and oversight to the project execution team by ensuring alignment between project activities and accepted scope, negotiate with the business, vendors and other partners on changes to scope. The work includes leading a dynamic team to remediate applications built on legacy technologies and address security vulnerabilities, provide direction and mentorship, proactively advising on quality and resolving complex technical challenges while contributing to design and code reviews. Also, you will collaborate with IT teams and business partners to identify innovative solutions, influence technology decisions, and drive technical strategies in alignment with architectural roadmaps, define remediations and test strategies, and help maintain a knowledge database by documenting lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred

  • 8+ years of IT industry experience within a matrixed organization

  • 4+ years proven experience within technical leadership

  • Hands-on experience with Java development background including on design, optimizations & performance tuning

  • Middleware experience with WebLogic (preferred), Apache, Spring Boot, etc.

  • Experience with Linux/UNIX environment and Scripting languages such as UNIX Shell

  • Experience with CICD pipeline integration tools (Jenkins, GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory, etc.) and handling automation

  • Relational databases experience (SQL (preferred), Sybase, DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

  • Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, & load balancers

  • Information and application security including LDAP, certificates, public key encryption, SSH, access credentials, etc.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $138,000 - $206,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
