About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Registered Nurse – High Dependency Unit (HDU) to join our surgical services team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Fitzroy campus.
This position involves the coordination and delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients within our 29-bed surgical ward and 3-bed HDU, with capacity for additional telemetry monitoring. Key specialties on the ward include Orthopaedics and Urology.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering safe, compassionate and effective care to patients with higher acuity needs.
Providing clinical leadership and support within the HDU.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Supporting education, mentoring and clinical supervision for junior staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care or High Dependency Nursing (or working toward completion)
Proven clinical experience in a high-acuity or HDU/ICU setting-at least 2 years
Strong communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
