About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Registered Nurse – High Dependency Unit (HDU) to join our surgical services team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Fitzroy campus.

This position involves the coordination and delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients within our 29-bed surgical ward and 3-bed HDU, with capacity for additional telemetry monitoring. Key specialties on the ward include Orthopaedics and Urology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering safe, compassionate and effective care to patients with higher acuity needs.

  • Providing clinical leadership and support within the HDU.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Supporting education, mentoring and clinical supervision for junior staff.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse

  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care or High Dependency Nursing (or working toward completion)

  • Proven clinical experience in a high-acuity or HDU/ICU setting-at least 2 years

  • Strong communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
