As an Automation & Informatics Consultant, you will serve as a dedicated resource for a specific MegaLab customer, supporting Siemens Healthineers Automation and Informatic Middleware solutions. You will provide onsite system configuration support including pre-installation, installation, training, troubleshooting, and post implementation activities. You will work closely with onsite Siemens Healthineers management and first, second, and third shift personnel, responding to complex system issues requiring onsite presence and advanced troubleshooting. You'll interact routinely with Laboratory Managers, Supervisors, IT Administrators, LIS vendors, and 3rd party middleware partners.

This role is best suited for someone who has IT experience in a medical setting. Ideally but not limited to Invitro Diagnostic Laboratory's.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Implementation

  • Supporting pre-installation and installation activities

  • Performing software installation, network setup, and application configuration

  • Conducting verification and acceptance testing

  • Delivering onsite and remote post implementation support

  • Executing software upgrades and updates

Planning & Project Support

  • Participating in planning activities for new installations, system expansions, and workflow design

  • Supporting customer specific workflow configuration decisions

  • Assisting in meeting business objectives


Technical Troubleshooting & Support

  • Independently troubleshooting and resolving software malfunctions

  • Understanding healthcare enterprise IT and security environments

  • Managing LIS interface communication and connectivity requirements

  • Following the Siemens Diagnostics escalation process


Training & Communication

  • Providing training to customer laboratory personnel on system operation, workflow, and configuration

  • Participating in customer and internal meetings or conference calls

  • Adhering to Siemens Healthineers quality and regulatory policies

Required Experience & Education:

  • BS in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, or related experience

  • Experience in Healthcare IT, security, and data privacy

  • Must be proficient in the use of tools and service test equipment, with the ability to work both individually and in an established team setting.

  • Proficiency in all necessary network applications and tools

  • 5+ years' experience as a medical technologist or field service engineer (biomedical engineer) servicing diagnostic instruments needed.

  • Valid driver's license, ability to drive independently day and night, and good driving record required.

  • Physical Requirements: Lifting 50lbs (floor to above waist/head), walking, ladder/stepstool climbing, bending, twisting, sitting work, squatting work, standing work, high-reach, fine grasping manipulation, good vision, and ability to work alone.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications

  • A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Healthcare IT Technician (or ability to obtain within six months)

Additional Experience

  • Cloud technologies (SaaS, DaaS, IaaS) and virtualization

  • MT or MLT laboratory experience or healthcare training experience

Technical Skills

  • MySQL and Linux

  • Log Analysis

  • TCP/IP, ARP, VPN, Principles of Encryption

  • Network Packet Analysis (Wireshark)

Must demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources; strong competency in instrument systems technology to include mechanics, electrical, chemistry, and software technology; experience with electronics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

The base pay range for this position is:

$90,780 - $124,828

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
