The Azure Cloud Product Manager for Governance and Security is responsible for the end-to-end management of Azure cloud products with a focus on governance, security, and compliance.

In this role you will define the product strategy, establish product roadmaps, and collaborate across teams to ensure that Azure services adhere to governance policies and security standards.

The Azure Cloud Product Manager will work closely with stakeholders to drive the implementation of cloud governance and security frameworks, optimize cloud resource utilization, and ensure alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.

This role is critical for ensuring that Azure cloud environments are secure, compliant, and governed effectively. By establishing robust governance and security standards, the Azure Cloud Product Manager supports organizational agility while mitigating risks. This ensures a seamless balance between operational excellence, cost-efficiency, and adherence to industry and regulatory standards.

Senior Product Manager, Cloud Governance and Security

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap Development:

- Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Azure governance and security services.

- Align product strategy with business objectives and cloud best practices to enhance security and compliance.

- Drive continuous improvement by assessing industry trends and identifying opportunities to advance governance and security practices.

Governance and Security Implementation:

- Develop and enforce Azure cloud governance frameworks, including policies for resource tagging, cost management, and security compliance.

- Lead collaboration with IT, OT, and Security teams to integrate governance and security requirements in cloud-native architectures.

- Establish policies and SOPs for governance, cost optimization, security controls, and compliance in Azure environments.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Management:

- Work closely with IT, OT, application owners, and infrastructure teams to define governance and security requirements.

- Act as the point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring the alignment of cloud products with compliance, governance, and security standards.

- Lead the Cloud Governance Center of Excellence, fostering collaboration across business units and departments.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Collaborate with engineering, security, and architecture teams to prioritize governance and security requirements.

- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product and engineering teams.

- Provide leadership in troubleshooting security and governance-related incidents, ensuring quick and effective resolution.

Cost Management and Optimization:

- Drive cloud cost optimization by setting policies for efficient resource use and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

- Collaborate with finance and FinOps teams to monitor cloud spend and improve cloud cost efficiency while ensuring security and compliance requirements are met.

  • Security and Compliance Management:

- Ensure that all Azure solutions adhere to security best practices and regulatory compliance standards.

- Develop product features that enhance cloud security posture, including identity management, data encryption, and network segmentation.

- Partner with security teams to address risks, assess vulnerabilities, and implement effective remediation measures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in cloud product management, with a focus on governance and security.
  • Proven experience in defining and managing cloud products, particularly related to governance, security, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, including Azure Resource Manager, Azure Policy, Azure Security Center, and Azure Blueprints.
  • Experience in implementing governance and compliance frameworks for cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud automation, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cost management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Effectively facilitated cross-departmental meetings leading to successful implementation of governance standards, ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least one professional-level certification in AZ-900, AZ-500, AZ-400, AZ-305, or AZ-600 is desirable although not a must.
