What you will be doing:
The Vice President of Sustainability and Supplier Diversity will lead the strategy, development, implementation, and management of Premier’s supplier diversity and sustainability programs. This role is instrumental in fostering an inclusive supply chain and advancing our sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, strong knowledge of sustainability and EPP practices, and supply chain management. The candidate has extensive experience in building programs for supplier diversity in healthcare as well as EPP and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership - 25%
Develop and execute a comprehensive supplier diversity and sustainability strategy aligned with Premier's overall business objectives.
Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate diversity and sustainability goals into the company's strategic plan.
Serve as a subject matter expert on supplier diversity and sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices.
Develop and lead the strategy for Supplier Diversity and EPP Member Committees.
Supplier Diversity - 20%
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with diverse suppliers, including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and small businesses.
Implement strategic programs such as SEEDS and initiatives to increase the participation of diverse suppliers in the company's supply chain.
Track and report on supplier diversity metrics and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Sustainability - 20%
Lead the development and implementation of sustainable sourcing strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote ethical practices.
Collaborate with suppliers to improve their sustainability performance and compliance with environmental standards.
Develop and monitor sustainability KPIs, reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders.
Program Management - 15%
Oversee the creation and execution of training programs and workshops for internal teams and suppliers to promote diversity and sustainability awareness.
Manage budgets and resources allocated to supplier diversity and sustainability programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Stakeholder Engagement - 10%
Engage with community organizations, industry groups, and government agencies to promote Premier's commitment to supplier diversity and sustainability.
Represent Premier at industry conferences, events, and forums to share best practices and learn from peers.
Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote program achievements and initiatives.
Continuous Improvement - 10%
Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in supplier diversity and sustainability.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supplier diversity and sustainability team.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Years of Applicable Experience - 12 or more yearsEducation:
Bachelors (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
15+ years of experience in supply chain management, supplier diversity, sustainability, or related roles, with a track record of leadership and program development.
Deep knowledge of DEI principles and sustainable business practices.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and drive organizational change.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.
Education:
MBA or advanced degree preferred
