Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an Associate Cyber Systems Engineer for a new and exciting effort located at Melbourne, FL. We're looking for a highly motivated, team oriented, individual that understands security and the importance to our mission. The candidate will be responsible for the secure operations of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software, including the installation, maintenance, and improvement of cloud computing environments. They will also support the development of new designs and security strategies across cloud-based applications and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The candidate will support and ensure compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). 

Responsibilities: 

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance, with a PR within last 5 years
  • Must be able to obtain Special Program Access prior to onboarding and then maintain
  • Must have at minimum a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE).  Must be able to obtain IASAE II or IAM II certification within 6 months
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and program information to others
  • Basic understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support a large networked system
  • Basic experience deploying and configuring Linux and Windows systems in accordance with DoD STIG requirements   
  • Basic experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as ACAS, ESS (HBSS), ePO, and Splunk on Linux RedHat and Windows environments
  • Basic experience with vulnerability and compliance scanners such as Nessus and SCAP 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • DoD 8570/8140 IASAE II/III Certification (CAP, GLSC, CISSP, CASP CE)
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills necessary to support known ISSE activities/challenges working with engineering teams, management, customers, partners and government
  • Experience with Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto and other next generation switches and firewalls. 
  • Experience with cloud solutions like Azure and AWS

Salary Range: $68,500.00 - $102,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
