Within the Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering team, the role of a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer involves a collaborative partnership with the Sales Division to foster the expansion and success of Motorola Solutions’ ventures.
The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in the sales cycle, focusing on the technical components. They work intimately with the Sales Teams to craft and present solutions that incorporate Video Security & Access Control products, prepare responses to tender specifications, facilitate product evaluations in intricate scenarios, and spearhead the provision of training for both staff and channel partners.
In the course of conducting needs assessments, the Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer ensures that the proposed products and solutions align with the client’s specifications and contributes to the technical vetting process. During the proposal stage, the individual communicates the technical nuances and underscores the distinct benefits of Motorola’s offerings to stakeholders with varied expertise. They must effectively position Motorola’s products against competitors, devising system plans that adhere to both technical and fiscal stipulations.
Pre-Sales Solutions Engineers are encouraged to specialize in specific solutions from the Motorola Solutions Portfolio, becoming experts in those areas. They bear the responsibility of implementing strategies to enrich and solidify the knowledge among the field sales and pre-sales personnel.
Your key responsibilities will include (not limited to):
Have positive attitude and can properly manage time and tasks, even when under pressure or having short deadlines
Support Sales teams in responding to RFPs, designs, specifications, and quotes
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sales teams, consultants, partners and end users
Technical resource for end user webinars and presentations to help assist with closing deals
Articulate the technology and demonstrate differentiated value propositions to both business and technical prospects
Tradeshow support and onsite customer visits including Proof Of Concept design and remote / onsite support
Internal technical sales support for the organization
Support Sales Team in responding to RFP’s and designing, specifying, and quoting systems
Continuous self-development and increase knowledge on Motorola Solutions VS&A hardware and software solutions
Effectively disseminate product knowledge by providing thorough training to field sales, pre-sales, consultants, partners and end users as required (requires travel)
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners
Help manage and develop certification training content
Deliver certification training to sales and partner channel
Collaborate with product support and engineering to help tackle complex customer issues
Support Pre-Sales field escalations and manage to engage the required resources in Motorola to deliver a solution
Support Events such as roadshows, trade shows, partners events, including in-house pre-setup of systems and shipping to the designated location. May require international traveling for setup and attending roadshows, trade shows, partners events
Onsite activities including international traveling when required, such as site surveys, systems audits and commissioning
Manage and provide product demonstrations either locally or remotely.
Administrative items including task assignment processes, calendar planning and monthly reporting on state of the territory
Perform related duties as assigned
Experience in Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering or equivalent role for a technology company
Strong understanding of the access control, and video surveillance markets and solutions
Self-motivated and focused individual with a passion for technology and an aptitude for customer satisfaction
Be capable of working as an individual contributor still part of a team to achieve corporate goals
Fluent English speaking and strong verbal and written communication
Excellent presentation skills in-person or using remote teleconference tools
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Be capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Has a pleasant, friendly style of verbal and written communication
Strong knowledge and experience with Windows troubleshooting tools and techniques
Advanced knowledge of networking principles and communications
Experience with computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting
Driving License and car for business transportation are a must (supported by corporate expenses policies)
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
Cloud hosted video and access control solutions experience
University degree or diploma in technology matters
Prior experience in the security industry, including certifications in enterprise and/or cloud hosted video and/or access control solutions
Microsoft, Cisco and/or any other relevant technical certifications
Domain of other languages rather than English
Knowledge of thermal imaging technologies including LWIR & MWIR cameras
This is a hybrid role that is both technical and sales-oriented and focuses on supporting the Motorola Solutions business opportunities.
This position entails both domestic and international travel, which may constitute up to 50% of the annual work calendar.
