About the role

As the Director, Analytics Strategy & Planning, you will report to our Chief Analytics Officer. The Director will partner with the Chief Analytics Officer to help define the strategy and ensure efficient execution of the department’s roadmap and vision. 

The candidate will be a creative thinker, effective communicator, and capable collaborator. They will work with key partners across HR, finance, recruitment, IT to design strategies and drive structured and data-based recommendations to action. Within this role, the candidate will have the ability to influence key elements of eBay’s analytics strategy and to help shape the future direction of eBay. The ideal candidate has a track record of making pragmatic, actionable recommendations with real world implementation experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and evolve with the chief analytics officer and team the 3 to 5 year, mission, vision & strategy of the department.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the roadmap and capabilities to achieve the objectives of the department annually.
  • Ensure the objectives are aligned with the critical initiatives of the business by working with key partners in the business.
  • Effectively plan the workload by team identifying gaps and opportunities for workforce optimization.
  • Co-ordinate team activities such as all-hands, team-building, employee feedback, hackathons & department training.
  • Plan and host key meetings such as weekly leadership staff, ops reviews, partner review sessions.
  • Build and maintain effective processes with HR, finance, recruitment, IT and other key collaboration partners.
  • Develop collateral for updates to the eBay’s Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 10+ years consulting experience through multiple assignments involving working with retailers through analytics transformations through reputable consulting firm
  • Must have bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience, MBA highly preferred 
  • Clear track record of success driving strategies and executing operating plans
  • Executive level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tell an elegant story backed by data
  • Strong-cross functional leader with high degree of ownership and drive for results
  • Highly organized, systematic problem solver who thrives on being efficient
  • Passionate for attention to detail
  • Comfortable and hands-on with data & analytics
  • Desire to “roll up your sleeves” to perform all functions from administrative processing to leading change initiatives
  • Solid project management skills, having managed and successfully delivered multiple, complex projects on-time and on-budget

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$160,400 - $254,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
